As much as I love South Africa, Scotland is where I was born and lived for a good part of my childhood and go back as often as I can. It is where I have my Scottish family and in some strange way where my roots are. You have no idea the pleasure it gives me to be able to present two workshops in my beautiful Scotland. What makes this extra special is that both these workshops are being hosted by Oliver's Travels - A dog walking service with a difference, in that Oliver walks the dogs over the hills and dales and gives them a wonderful outing. This special young man is already experienced and wants to learn more about dogs and how he can improve the life of his own dog Casper (picture below) and his clients' dogs - the result of this are two workshops - thank you Oliver - I get to visit a country I love and share my passion - making owners and dogs lives better by sharing my knowledge!

* A portion of workshop fees will be donated to The One Stop Shop Perth. An Autism Initiative for adults.
* In the spirit of 'giving back' Scotty will be presenting a TTouch workshop to, One Stop Shop an Autism Initiative

Learn to Speak & Think Dog!

Presented by Scotty Valadao, Accredited Canine Behaviourist & TTouch Practitioner from South Africa - Scottish by birth. www.scottysdogs.co.za & www.friendsofthedog.co.za

Please note that attendance at the workshops is limited to 12 participants at each workshop. Those attending both workshops will have first option of attending the TTouch workshop in the afternoon. A maximum of 6 dogs will be catered for at the TTouch workshop.

Morning Session

  •  Calming / Appeasement Signals and Signs of  Stress
  •  The 5 F’s of Behaviour
  • House Rules – just as our kids need structure, so too do our dogs. The implication of same will result in dogs that are better behaved, more likely to listen and a reduction of all behaviour problems. Additionally your dog will be more relaxed and changing any unacceptable behaviour much easier. Included in this will be how to stop dogs jumping up.

This workshop will also contain limited demonstrations. However, the various Calming/Appeasement signals you will learn will be pointed out in the TTouch session when we have more dogs to study.

Comprehensive notes on a CD will be provided for all participants. Should you not have the facility for a CD on your laptop, then notes will be emailed to you in pdf format after the workshop.

Afternoon Session

  • Tellington TTouch  Only when one has seen the difference  both in behaviour &  physically can you understand why this simple to learn modality is something every single pet owner should learn. The differences in the dogs can be nothing short of amazing!
  • Additionally you will also learn how to stop dogs pulling on lead and how to approach fearful dogs.
  • Although we are limited to 6 dogs in this workshop the other 6 participants without their own dogs will learn this wonderful modality and work on the other dogs present, so you will not miss out and will be able to go home and practice on your own dogs.

Participants will learn the basic TTouches, how to use a Wrap, using two points of contact and so much more!
Comprehensive notes on a CD will be provided for all participants. Should you not have the facility for a CD on your laptop, then notes will be emailed to
you in pdf format after the workshop.
