What our clients say about us
A few of the dogs that we have been honoured to work with

Biscuit Bouwer
What we like most about Scottie is that she explains everything she does so we can understand why and how we need to apply the rehabilitation methods.

Gert and Chriszelda Bouwer

Biscuit was adopted from a rescue organisation and due to various factors he was extremely fearful. Our family and friends suggested we give him up for adoptions as his behaviour was impacting our lives tremendously, we couldn't have any visitors over to our home or go out walking with Biscuit, go on holiday or away for weekend. We have heard of Scottie through her reputation. When I called Scottie it was our last resort to help Biscuit.

Within our first session with Scottie we could see the small but distinct changes in Biscuit. With Scotties constant follow up, standby with advice, detailed notes that we could refer to and encouragement Biscuit has improved drastically. Within a matter of 2 months Biscuit changed from a fearful anxious doggie into a happy doggy who loves visitors and his walk. The whole experience has been such an exciting and insightful journey and Scottie also provides you a wealth of additional information that helped us become better dog owners to our other two doggies.

Scottie really is a dog whisperer and we would recommend her to anybody who needs help with their dogs.

Jennie Browning& Cassie

 Dear Scotty,

8 years ago my Bearded Collie, Cassie, and myself had the privilege to
attend your puppy socialization and training classes. Today Cassie is a
lovely natured, well balanced and well behaved dog who can fit in any where.

I have been attending your Good Citizen dog classes just as a refresher and she still remembers everything from her puppy training!!

I thoroughly endorse your methods and the caring trainers who work with you and hope that you continue with your work for many years.

Kaizer Drake

Dear Scotty, I am sure you will remember me, I am Kaizer Drake, a Weimaraner and I will be 5 years old on the 28th April 2009. We came to you for puppy and adolescent training. Mum needed the training more than me. However when she learnt not to be so anxious and lowered her expectations of herself and me we took to puppy training like "bees to honey". Mum was told by people that the Weimaraner was a narotic, off the wall and spaso breed and because that is not how she saw me and not the kind of dog she wanted, she 'invested' in me and the best gift she gave to me and herself was our puppy/adolescent training.

I am happy to tell you that I am a loving, gentle, disciplined and well behaved gentleman. Mom keeps up with all the things she was taught and I must say other than not behaving myself occasionally on a lead, I am one happy and content Weimaraner.

I miss you lots, give my love to Brady, Licks and Wags, Kaizer.

Tina Farrell – Ireland

I thoroughly enjoyed the |TTouch workshop. I felt I've bonded more with my dog and that Sparkey has calmed down and is more relaxed. Tina Farrell - Ireland

 Pam, Mike & Mandy:

We have really enjoyed our Sunday mornings with you, besides learning a lot it has always been a fun outing meeting up with the others in our group. We have learned so much with you and can see it is really paying dividends.

 Cassey-Fizz-Pop& Cherokee

Cassey Fizz-Pop from when I got her as a six week old puppy had something wrong with her spine or something.  Not noticeable when sitting or standing, but when walking or running, her head would be at a fourty-five degree angle to her body to the right.  After doing TTouch at one year's old, for a week, whatever was wrong was rectified and her head is now straight when she runs or walks and has remained right ever since.  She also used to chew everything to shreds if I went out even during the day but never while I was there.  This hasn't happened since I started working with Scotty and also I ensure she has at least one thing like rawhide to chew on if I go out.

Cherokee had problems with fear of other dogs after my other dog Phoenix was mutilated and killed by two Pitbulls.  After 3 sessions with Scotty and doing TTouch on her, she has overcome this fear beautifully and now goes up to other dogs without barking or showing fear on walks in the park.  She also has a major fear of any loud noises but especially fireworks.  This 2009 New Year although she still shivered and shook, she did not go into blind panic as she did in the past.  She is also much calmer during thunderstorms and her recovery to normal is very quick.  TTouch, behaviour modification, and the wrap and everything else all helped to accomplish this in a very short space of time.

Both of them also used to jump on my parents to say hello which they hated.  After teaching my parents how use the correct behaviours as well, my parents can now cope with them and they don't jump up to say hello to my parents.  I have learnt a tremendous amount as well and they respond to my commands much better now as well.  Thanks Scotty!

Di, Derek & Rudi

Aggession& Nervousness - Behaviour Modification &TTouch:-The difference after just one visit was remarkable. I think Derek and I are very good students! Both dogs have improved immeasurably and we really thank you for teaching us TTouch.

Linda & Joe

Behaviour Modification &TTouch- Fear of thunder and loud noises:- Jo is almost back to normal! We had a storm last week, I must say, it was'nt a bad one, but he did not react at all. Plus, Alex and I were walking him last week and a silly teenager was setting off crackers, he did not react at all! So it has all been worth it. I do the TTouch every day - have missed one only. So thank you ver much, it has all been extremely worth while.

Natalie, Peter & Molly

Behaviour Modification &TTouch:- Before Molly had the benefit of TTouch she was impossible. She was excitable, agitated and restless and would bark uncontrollably at strangers and visitors alike. In fact I received a complaint from my neighbours which spurred me on to get help. With visitors she was a nightmare barking, growling and being over protective of all her possessions. She became particularly bad when food was involved. It got to the stage where I could'ntake her anywhere or have her around gusts. This really upset me as I wanted a dog that I could include in my day to day life, who I could train and enjoy. Molly was also very possessive of me and would not leave my side. I must admit I was close to giving up.

However once Scotty had had a few session with Molly I noticed a change immediately. She became far more relaxed, not rushing around in her agitated state. She began to leave my side and spent time in the garden or exploring on her own, by the end of her sessions she even went galavanting in a strange environment with strange dogs around and I battled to get her to come back to me!! She also allowed other people to take her for walks. Molly's behaviour towards visitors has also improved dramatically, so much so that my family and friends want to know what I've done to her - she's no longer gets called Mad Molly. She is even more accepting of strangers-while having a quote for a new kitchen she hardly paid any attention to the three strange me in the house! I am also happy to report that her barking has improved.

Thanks so much to Scotty for her patience, perserverance and belief in the benefits of TTouch, when she first told me about TTouch I must admit I was a little skeptical, however I am definately converted and I cannot believe the change it has made to both our lives. As a schoolteacher I can often be found rubbing the tips of over excited childrens ears-it worked for Molly, why not for them?!

 Joanne Ellis and Timmi

I went to See Scotty in March 2014 with My 6 year old JR Terrier, Timmie. He was very dog reactive and nervous around children. I was a bit doubtful at first as I have taken him to lots of trainers and spent a fortune trying different methods to calm his behavior and get him to walk nicely on a lead. After a one hour session with Scotty she gave me some useful new tools and methods that I can use to work with Timmie. After some training and working with him around other dogs at Scotty’s training facility, Timmie while not perfect (after all who is) is now much better around other dogs and much less reactive around them when going out for a walk. I would highly recommend anyone who has issues with their pups or dogs to pay Scotty a visit.

 Melinda Peggy & Nike

I met Scotty 10 years ago when I decided to get Nike, a 6 week old JR.

I took him to Scotty’s Puppy School, this is where I was first introduced to TTouch and Positive Reinforcement Training. With this sort of training (especially with a JR), Nike became a well socialised and habituated pup and has turned out to be a lovable dog with a wonderful nature.

I then decided that Nike needed a play mate, so I rescued Pegasus, a Maltese X. As a rescue, I did not know her background (they thought she was about 6-8 months old) at all, but realised she had missed out on socialization, she was afraid and was reactive to everything.

I needed help and contacted Scotty, and with Scotty, Charmaine and all the staff at FODs, Pegasus has become a more relaxed and well-adjusted dog.

I would highly recommend FODs for all “furkids” out there.

 Fiona

As you can see from the photos, puppy classes are exhausting!  A big thank you to Scotty, Charmaine and their helpers for all their efforts every Saturday morning.  The classes are well organised and well run and an absolute necessity if your puppy is to become part of the family.  I am not a first time dog owner, in fact Jethro is my seventh Rottweiler, and so I have trained at a number of schools – all with differing methods.  I have to say I have enjoyed Scotty’s classes very much and her genuine love of the dogs is evident.  Training and working together with one’s dog really builds a strong bond and is very rewarding despite the frustrations that one has to deal with every now and then.  Keep up the good work Scotty and team!  I look forward to many more months of training with you all.

 Thank you once again

Kind regards

Fiona

 Anndine & Macaw

I brought my little toy pom (Macaw) to puppy school when he was already 4.5 months old and had just recovered from a broken leg. Upon arrival at our first session the team at FOTD already knew Macaw’s name, his strengths and weaknesses as a toy pom and from there they always kept a look out for his recovering leg.  Scotty and her team really take a personal interest in your fur child, always checking in with you on the issues relevant to your individual dog.   They did a fantastic job turning this shy, inquisitive little pup into a confident, strutting doggie who is happy to show off his tricks to anyone who will give him 5 mins.

 .Yours faithfully,

 AnndineDippenaar

 Moira & Sherrie

 Dear Scotty,

I would just like to say how much Sherrie and I enjoyed Puppy 1 we learnt a

lot together. The love and care shown to all the puppies by you and Charmaine is wonderful

and very endearing. I look forward to the puppy 2 classes and I'm sure Sherrie will too.

I would have no hesitation at highly recommending your school. I think you

are doing a wonderful job, while maintaining a high degree of

professionalism.

Greetings,

Moira
