Due to the constant requests we receive from people that have undergone Correspondence Courses on Canine Behaviour for some type of practical assistance, we have put together our intense and very comprehensive, Purely Practical Boot Camp, to cater for this need, and give people the skills they require.

TTouch If you have not learnt how to do TTouch, we really do recommend this add-on. TTouch is one of the most incredible modalities to reduce stress - it is impossible for us to learn anything new, or change behaviour if we are stressed. This will be a half day session which will give you the basics. Please note that this does not qualify you as a TTouch Practitioner.
Client & Communication Skills This is a fantastic tool to have, and is presented by Charmaine who is a registered Mediator, as well as a Lawyer and Advocate. Additionally she will analyze your personality type and give you insight as to which areas of dealing with people may be more challenging to you.
Contents :
The Practical Boot Camp will include all the basics which are crucial as you will need to be competent in these in order to teach them to clients for which ever behaviour concern you are seeing them for – Sit, Down, Stand ; Bite Inhibition ; Leave exercise ; Fun Recall ; Real Reliable Recall, Collar Grabbing ; Basic Wait ; Professional Pullers; Balance Lead and Super Balance Lead ; Loose lead walking ; Fading, ‘Parking’ a dog, Food bowl exercises (x2), Swap exercise, Visitor exercise for dogs that show reactive or fear behaviour, changing jumping up and dealing with dogs that are fearful. We also go over all exercises such as desensitizing in general, (also to both Muzzle and Head Halter) , counter conditioning, introducing dogs, Alone Time Training for dogs that are over dependent or have separation anxiety as well as the Away exercise.
We also go over the basic modifications for the various behaviour concerns such as separation anxiety, dogs that chase, storm phobia, resource guarding etc, and show you how to incorporate the new tools you have learnt. We will also cover Questionnaires, Pre-plan and how to formulate very straight forward Reports for clients.
We have a minimum of 3 dogs for you to practice on daily, or else your own dog can accompany you to the bootcamp. Additionally, the session on Introducing dogs is done with dogs that do not know one another, so you can really see how successful introductions can be achieved.
After you have mastered the basics, and completed the Book Camp, you will be sending us video’s (What’s app is also perfect), on you doing a demo on the various exercises one at a time so that we can be assured that you have mastered the necessary skills, so practicing the skills you have learnt is vital. This allows us to pick up on any exercises that may need some ‘tweaking’. These do not have to be professional and can take just a few minutes to do.
