Foundation Course 

MODULE 3
(Cape Town)



INVESTMENT : R4000 - which is payable with a deposit of R500, followed by up to 12 monthly payments - no interest is charged. Twelve months to complete this Module.

CERTIFICATE ON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION - Canine Behaviour & Basic Training (Fods Academy)
PRACTICAL SESSIONS - As below - takes place over a weekend at either Parklands or Fallen Angels outside Melkbosrand.

  • Questionnaires and Pre-Plan. Students learn how to analyize a Questionnaire to determine as to why the unacceptable behaviour may be occurring and plan for the consult.
  • Reports. Students learn how to put together a comprehensible Report for the client. 
  • Observations, critical distance, posture and tension patterns. Students will learn to take their skills of a dogs body language much further. Students will also learn how to do the Calming Procedure.
  • ​Students will start to present the Demo's to fellow students. This is a wonderful way to reinforce your presentation skills and gain confidence for dealing with clients. 
  • Two Role Play Sessions. This is where students will act as the behaviourist based on a Questionnaire and put together their Preplan and report after the session. 
  • Conflict Resolution & Mediation. Students will learn their own personality type and be given additional tools to help them further their communication Skills. Social media manners will be discussed.

THEORETICAL - Very comprehensive. Sections are sent to students a few sections at a time. Each Section contains an assignment based on the information contained in the Section. There are also several Quizes which are undertaken every few sections. This allows us to keep in touch with students and give them the personal attention they deserve.

No additional reading material is required as all contained in the course - however, we do supply links for students to read further, so they wish too. We are available to students Monday to Friday and welcome their interaction and any questions or querries.
