Canine Behaviour Coach Course

The Canine Behaviour Coach Course is a follow-on from the Canine Behaviour Shelter Course and is only open to those who have successfully completed the Shelter Course Course. 

This course is designed to give you the following tools:


  • Working with dogs in the shelter to improve behaviour and make them more adoptable.
  • Providing behaviour assistance to owners to prevent dogs being surrendered due to behaviour concerns. 
  • Assisting owners after adopting if they need assistance for behaviour concerns.
  • Sharing your knowledge with general public at shelter related events

After successful completion, should you wish to take become a registered Canine Behviour Advisor Level 1 there is an additional Module available. 

Includes:

  • 20 Practical sessions (minimum)
  • ​2 TTouch Sessions
  • Comprehensive Theory 
  • How to work with Questionnaires and pre-plan before working with owners
  • ​Client skills
  • 12 month Mentoring after qualifying 
  • Students are invited to assist at any Shelter Courses taking place
  • ​Students can accompany us at any shelter visits - most of these take place during the week and be at Fallen Angels in Melkbos
  • Students are encouraged to do as much work at shelters as possible while studying

​The Practical sessions in Cape are hosted in the Welgemoed area and accommodation is available for those travelling.

This course is presented in an easy to follow format and is unbelievably comprehensive and will give you everything you need to make a difference in the shelter environment.

  • A complete and well rounded knowledge and understanding of why dogs do the things they do, right from pups to seniors - a solid foundation.
  • Gain an understanding as to why behaviour concerns develop
  • Receive the knowledge, ability and tools to be able to change behaviour concerns and really make a difference in the shelter environment
  • All materials are presents in an easy to understand format
  • You have 24/7 access to us during the week
  • You can start any time during the year - work at your own pace, and have 18 months to complete the course. 
  • We close between 15th December to 15th January annually
  • On successful completion, you will receive a certificate as a Canine Behaviour Shelter Coach
  • All successful Graduates will be bound by our  Code of Ethics
  • You will be Mentored for a full 12 month period after completion

​Your Financial Investment :
The full price is R7800 inclusive of above. Payment is a deposit of R500, followed by monthly payments of either 3, 6, 9, 12, 18 or 24 months. The course must have paid in full before Certification is awarded. 


​Your Time Investment :
  • You have 24 months to complete the course
  • Theoretical - the notes are sent out by email and at the end of each section there are short assignments based on course material. At the end of each Module Phase there is a simple quiz based on the material you have just read. There is no research required . 
  • Practical  - as below. Private sessions are arranged by appointment. 
  • ​​Skype Sessions - as below - these are approximately an hour in duration and arranged by appointment.   ​
