ADOLESCENT CLASSES - 8 TO 24 MONTHS
..

Do you resonate with the picture? Who is in charge of the human/canine social structure? Does it seem as if that beautiful bundle of Fluff, round about 8 months of age woke up one day and had changed from a lovely little dog that only wanted to please you into something resembling a hooligan?
Don't worry, your little one has passed into the adolescent stage, much like a human teenager and just as challenging! Simple requests like sit, down, come seem to have been forgotten or are totally ignored, you are no longer the centre of the dogs universe and at times it may feel as your dog is performing certain behaviours just to annoy you.
Is it any wonder why the majority of dogs end up in shelters between 7 - 24 months? The sad thing is that if the owner just had the basic tools to handle the situation, realized that this stage will pass and worked on the good things the dog was doing, and ignored or redirected the unacceptable behaviour, the end result did not need to be the shelter.
Some dogs just don't seem to outgrow this age and some of the unacceptable behaviour continue into adulthood. The good news is that nearly all dogs can learn new ways and so can their owners!
So if your dog is going through adolescence or you have a dog that: -
Then give us a call and we would be delighted to help you - all you have to do is come to class for a 5 week persiod, listen to what we say, practice the exercises at home, and in no time at all, you will start to see the behaviour change.
Additionally, you will learn how to get your dog to:
We look forward to meeting you!

So if your dog is going through adolescence or you have a dog that: -
- almost knocks you over as you arrive home
- jumps up on both you and visitors
- pulls like a train on lead
- is totally OTT,
- does not listen to you,
- ignores you when it suits it (not food time normally!)
- pushes you over in its hurry to get out the door or down the stairs
- sits and begs at the table
- will annoy you when sitting down and not give you a minute of peace
- is still using you as a nibbling machine
Then give us a call and we would be delighted to help you - all you have to do is come to class for a 5 week persiod, listen to what we say, practice the exercises at home, and in no time at all, you will start to see the behaviour change.
Additionally, you will learn how to get your dog to:
- Sit, Down and Stand
- Walk on lead without pulling
- Learn basic heel work
- Sit and wait when requested too, whether going out a door, down the stairs on out the car
- Stop nibbling and mouthing on humans
- Learn how dogs think and act which will give you the understanding of why the dog is engaging in a particular behaviour. Once you understand this, half the battle is over, and with the skills you have learnt you will be able to handle any future problems that may occur.
We look forward to meeting you!
