My classes are geared towards establishing a happy relationship between pets and people by using positive reward training methods rather than force and punishment. My preferred way is by means of a “clicker”.

The course is suitable for puppies from 8 to 16 weeks old (10 days after their first vaccination) and consists of 6 sessions of 1 hour each. It is presented at the Germiston Veterinary Hospital at the corner of Black Reef & de Beer Road in Dinwiddie on Saturday mornings and afternoons.

At the end of the course (provided that all of the classes have been attended), the puppies and their handlers will be presented with a Eukanuba certificate.

Classes are limited to a maximum of 8 puppies to ensure you the individual attention you deserve, so early booking is advisable.

Family members and friends are most welcome but please leave young children at home as they can be very distractive in class

The aim is to give you theoretical knowledge and practical skills in order for you to be in control at all times, whether it be at home, at classes or in the shopping centre. To achieve this I will show you how to communicate effectively with your dog. Classes are relaxed and individualised to suit the needs of each pet / owner combination and I encourage positive socialisation between dogs where appropriate.

I have been a doggy person for 40 years. It started with a pavement special being taken to dog training and began to be taken seriously when I made the second mongrel bitch in South Africa into an Obedience Champion. I was involved in obedience training for many years as a competitor, instructor and am now a retired senior Kennel Union obedience judge. At tertiary level I have an Advanced Animal Behaviour qualification from the Pretoria Technikon.

2	TRAVELLING FROM EDENVALE
-	Get on to the N3 Durban at the Linksfield onramp
-	Go through the Gilloolys Interchange to N3 Durban

3	COMMON TO BOTH PLACES
-	Road splits into M2 JHB; Germiston / N3 Durban; Kimberley
-	Keep to the right hand side and follow N3 Durban; Kimberley
-	Just after the interchange you will see the PPC cement factory on your right
-	Road splits into N3 Heidelburg; Durban / N12 Kimberley; R59 Vereeniging
-	Keep to the left hand side and follow the signs for N3 Heidelburg; Durban
-	After the interchange move to the right hand side and follow N3 Heidelburg; Durban
-	Keep to the right hand side and follow N3 Heidelburg; Durban
-	Go off at the next offramp - exit 101 Germiston and turn left into Grey Avenue
-	Pass through the traffic light at Hatfield Ave
-	Turn left into Black Reef Road at the next traffic light
-	Pass through the traffic light at Hatfield Ave
	Pass Elton and Lennox roads on your left
-	100 meters further is de Beer Street and a Caltex filling station
-	We're at that intersection, on the left hand side

4	TRAVELLING FROM SUNWARD PARK
-	Take the N17 west towards Johannesburg
-	Turn off at exit 137 Germiston offramp just before the Gosforth Toll Plaza
-	Turn left at the traffic lights into Wits Rifles Road…becomes Black Reef Road
-	After ± kilometre there is a Caltex petrol station on the right
-	We are next door, at the corner of de Beer Street
