Dog Bite Prevention Workshops and Private Sessions

The majority of dog bites are preventable and if the family and dog are taught 'how to avoid bites', this can go a long way to lessen the possibility of bites occurring, and if they do happen, the bite prevention exercises will ensure that the bites are not as severe as they could have been.

I offer private sessions to families which includes:-

• Children taught how to approach and interact with dogs
• Bite Inhibition exercises for the dog
• Food bowl exercises for the dog
• Swap exercises for the dog (to ensure that the dog readily gives up anything in its mouth)
• Basic Calming Signals (how to recognize what your dogs body language is saying)

These take place in the comfort of your own home or at my premises in Edenvale. The session lasts in the region of an hour and a half and comprehensive notes are given for your easy reference.

I also offer evening workshops to nursery schools and creches where the parents are shown how to teach their children to interact with dogs as well as bite inhibition exercises for the dogs and basic calming signals as above. A comprehensive set of notes is supplied to each parent.
